The Aging Process

I often hear ladies say 'I feel like I woke up one day and I just noticed how aged I was looking.'  There are many factors that contribute to the ageing process, however, at Adorned Aesthetics, we have many treatments to help you look and feel your best.

Fat Redistribution

As we age, our fat pads descend down our face and can lead to drawn looking eyes, hollowed cheeks, sunken temples and heaviness/jowling in the lower face.

Collagen and Elastin

Collagen and elastin are the two proteins predominantly responsible for the structure and quality of our skin. As we age, the production of these proteins decrease, leading to loss firmness and elasticity in the skin. This can result in sagging and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

Sun Damage

UV radiation from the sun accelerates the aging process by breaking down collagen and elastin fibres in our skin. Over time, cumulative sun exposure can lead to the development of wrinkles, pigmentation irregularities, and loss of skin elasticity.

Bone Resorption

As we age, we gradually lose bone density and volume in certain areas of the skull, particularly the facial bones.  This can lead to reduction in bone support, particularly in the lower face and jawline, resulting in jowls.  As well as loss of definition and facial contouring in our cheeks and temples. This can result in a flattened and sunken appearance.

At Adorned Aesthetics, we have treatments that can help restore volume, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, and improve the quality of your skin.
