Skin Treatments
After-Care
• It is important to keep your skin well hydrated after the SkinPen procedure. Skin needling causes a temporary increase in water loss so keeping your skin hydrated and protected during this period will aid your recovery.
• LIFT HG may be reapplied additionally the day of the procedure to assist with skin hydration. Reapply, as needed, up to 24 hours post-procedure or until the product is depleted.
• Do not use any other products, including cleanser, on your skin within the first 24 hours post-procedure. Unexpected complications may occur when products not proven safe for use with skin needling are applied post-procedure. In lieu of cleansing your skin, you may rinse with cool water as needed.
• Begin applying RESCUE Calming Complex as needed after the first 24 hours to help soothe and calm the skin. RESCUE was specifically formulated for post-skin needling.
• Strictly avoid sun exposure the day of the procedure as you will not be wearing sunscreen. You may return to sunscreen use 24 hours following the procedure. Continue to minimise sun exposure for 72 hours post-procedure.
• Avoid strenuous exercise or excessive perspiration for 72 hours post-procedure, as excess blood flow and sweat can cause discomfort and irritation to compromised skin.
• Avoid using any active skincare topical products, such as retinoids, vitamin C, etc., for the week after your skin needling procedure to avoid risk of irritation.
• Schedule your next skin needling appointment as recommended.

After-Care
Your recovery time will be influenced by the type of peel treatment you have received and your individual skin's response.
Please stop, discontinue or not have any of the following treatments:
For 24 hours post treatment:
• Exercise (avoid getting overheated)
• Bathing or showering
For 72 hours post treatment:
• Application if chemical sun protection
For 5-10 days post treatment:
• Exfoliating products (scrubs, AHA's, BHA's, Vitamin A)
• Products not recommended by your practitioner
• Home needling
• Anti-wrinkle injections
• Prescription topical Retin A
• Sun exposure to area treated
For 2 weeks post treatment:
• Waxing, bleaching or hair drying any areas to be treated
• Electrolysis on any treatment area
• IPL/Laser Hair removal treatments
IPL/Laser Skin Rejuvenation (only prior to very superficial peels)
• Facial Treatments of any kind including AHA, • BHA, Vitamin A or TCA treatments
• Microdermabrasion/Epidermal Levelling
• Dermal Fillers
For 4 weeks post treatment:
• IPL/Laser Skin Rejuvenation (only prior to superficial to medium depth peels)
• AHA, BHA, Vitamin A or TCA Superficial to • • Deep Peels
• Needling (standard in clinic or medical)
• Fractional Ablative Laser Resurfacing/Full Ablative Laser Resurfacing
• Facelift Surgery
Continued:
• Do not pick at the skin - this can increase the risk of injection, pigment changes and scarring
• Increase water intake to include 'at least' 8 glasses
• Wear sun protection and reapply every 2 hours
• Protect the treatment area with protective clothing such as a hat, sunglasses and long sleeves when outdoors
• Not use wash cloths, or any type of cloth on skin, instead, apply cleanser to clean hands and foam for application
• Contact the clinic with any further questions or concerns
• Adhere to your prescribed 'at home' routine for the next 5 days.
After-Care
After the procedure, it is recommended to avoid the following activities:
• Excessive drinking
• Sauna
• Hot water baths
• Intense exercise
• Direct sunlight
After the procedure, you may experience the following temporary effects:
• Bruising
• Swelling
• Slight pain
• Redness
• These effects typically subside within a few days
For Swelling Management:
• Apply cool facial massage for the first 2 days
• Switch to warm facial massage for the following 3 days
Skin Care:
• Use a moisturiser frequently to keep your skin hydrated
• Avoid using chemical sunscreen & Vitamin C serum for 3 days
Post-Procedure Face Care:
• You can wash your face and apply light makeup from the next day after the procedure
• Avoid using scrubs or peeling on your face during the recovery period.
After-Care
Daily
- Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater should be applied.
- Avoid sun exposure to treated areas.
- Follow your prescribed homecare routine, as advised by your treatment provider.
24 - 72 Hours Post Treatment (or until redness subsides)
- Avoid exercise and activities that increase perspiration and body temperature.
- Avoid the use of pools, baths, hot showers and saunas.
- Avoid the use of scented lotions or soaps.
- Avoid anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections for 72 hours.
- Avoid active skincare ingredients for 48-72 hours.
- A routine including a gentle cleanser, hydrating serum and gentle moisturiser/SPF is recommended for up to 72 hours post treatment. Your treatment provider will recommend appropriate skincare.
Up To 7 Days Post Treatment
- Avoid hair removal in the treated area.
- Avoid exfoliating the area with cosmeceutical AHA's, BHA's or granular scrubs.
- Avoid the use of prescription-strength exfoliant creams.
Up To 2 Weeks Post Treatment
- Avoid IPL or laser treatments in the treated area.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure.
Important
- Contact your treatment provider if you notice any grazing, swelling, bruising or any other unexpected response.
- Your treatment provider will advise your treatment schedule. It is important to adhere to this regime for optimal results.
- Throughout your treatment course, it is important to advise your treatment provider of any of the following as these will influence your treatment safety and efficacy: commencing any new medication (including short-term doses), changes to current medications or supplements, if you are trying to become or have become pregnant, any new health conditions, or if you have been unwell.
After-Care
Daily
- Use sunscreen with SPF30 or greater.
- Avoid sun exposure to the treated areas.
For The First 24 Hours (or until redness and swelling subsides)
- Apply post-laser gel up to 3 times a day.
- A cold compress every hour for five to ten minutes may be soothing to the skin. Do not apply ice directly to the skin. (Avoid IPL Photo-rejuvenation).
- Avoid exercise activities that increase perspiration and body temperature.
- Avoid the use of pools, spas, saunas, hot showers and baths.
- Avoid the application of deodorant in the treatment area.
Up To 5 Days Post Treatment
- Avoid the use of scented lotions or soaps.
- Avoid using cosmeceutical Vitamin A, AHA's, BHA's and Vitamin C.
Up To 1 - 4 Weeks Post Treatment
- Avoid the use of prescription strength exfoliant creams.
- Avoid anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections in the treated area.
- After two weeks, start gently exfoliating the treated area. (IPL Photorejuvenation: wait four weeks to exfoliate).
Important
- Contact your treatment provider if you notice any blisters, crusts or open areas. Allow these to heal spontaneously.
- Do not pick at these areas. Picking may results in infection or scarring.
- Your treatment provider will advise you when to schedule your next appointment, as different body areas require different treatment intervals. It is essential to adhere to this regime for best results.
- Maintenance treatments will be required and will be ongoing.
- Throughout your treatment course, it is important to advise your treatment provider of any of the following as these will influence your treatment safety and efficacy: commencing any new medication (including short-term doses), changes to current medications or supplements, if you are trying to become or have become pregnant, any new health conditions, or if you have been unwell.
Body Treatments
Pre-Care
Daily
- A sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater should be applied to protect against UV damage.
4 Weeks Pre Treatment
- Avoid using fake tan and gradual tanning creams in the area to be treated.
- Avoid tanning and incidental sun exposure (including between treatments).
- Avoid dermal filler injections to the treated area.
2 Weeks Pre Treatment
- Prepar the skin with suitable skincare. This may include a tyrosinse inhibitor for Fitzpatrick Skin Types III+ and any skin prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Your treatment provider will advise you of skincare recommendations.
- Avoid prescription-strength exfoliant creams on the treatment area.
- Avoid anti-wrinkle injections in the treatment area.
1 Week Pre Treatment
- Avoid waxing, plucking, threading (or removing hair from the follicle), using delipatory creams or underaking electrolysis (including between treatments).
- Avoid harsh exfoliation (AHA's, BHA's, mechanical exfoliants) and benzoyl peroxide application.
3 Days Pre Treatment
- Avoid cosmeceutical Vitamin A, AHA's & BHA's, and Vitamin C application.
48 Hours Pre Treatment
- Very gently exfoliate the treatment area.
- Shave the treatment area (if required).
- Drink plenty of water to assist with elimination (Body Contouring).
1 Day Pre Treatment
- Avoid exercise and excessive sweating, spas, saunas and pools.
After-Care
Daily
- Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater should be applied.
- Avoid sun exposure to treated areas.
- Follow your prescribed homecare routine, as advised by your treatment provider.
- Avoid picking or peeling the skin.
For 24 Hours Post Treatment
- Avoid exercise, excessive sweating, hot showers, spas, baths, saunas and pools.
- Avoid makeup application.
- Avoid active skincare ingredients (Vitamin A & C) for 72 hours.
Up To 1 Week Post Treatment
- Avoid anti-wrinkle and dermal filler injections.
- Avoid exfoliation (AHA's, BHA's, mechanical).
- Avoid hair removal (waxing, threading, plucking).
Additional After Care For Body Contouring
- Drink plenty of water to assist with the elimination process.
- If the skin has no signs of redness or small bumps, perform 30 minutes of exercise post-treatment (avoid if RF has been performed).
- Avoid alcohol consumption for up to 72 hours.
Additional After Care For Radio Frequency
- Do not cool the area with cold packs unless otherwise advised.
Important
- Contact your treatment provider if you notice any unusual reactions.
- Your treatment provider will advise your treatment schedule. It is important to adhere to this regime for the best results.
- Maintenance treatments will be required and ongoing.

- Avoid benzyl peroxide application on the treatment area.
- If prone to cold sores, speak to your pharamacist about a prophylactic course of anti-viral medication.
3 Days Pre Treatment
- Avoid cosmeceutical Vitamin A, AHA's, BHA'a and Vitamin C application.
1 Day Pre Treatment
- Shave the area thoroughly.
After-Care
Daily
- Use sunscreen with SPF30 or greater.
- Avoid sun exposure to the treated areas.
